6.10 - Chimera's Fortification

To start this, you have to clear the Elite taur away from her Fortress. To do this you have to get the Elites stuck in the lava.

The most effective and time saving way of doing this is to fully buff the servant and pull 1 to 2 Taurs and kite them across a bridge. At least on the servant, the Taurs will often times lose aggro and walk back to their spots, so you will have to aggro them constantly.

Start with your bridge of choice, with the best being the one SW bridge, and pull any Elites that are there across the bridge to the other side. You will have to cast HoT on a regular basis when you get the chance or when your pet is low on health. Make sure your pet is on passive at all times, and the best pulling tool is the instant AE str/con debuff in the painworking spec line.

Once you are across with your pull, move yourself so that when the taurs lose aggro again they walk directly into the lava because they move straight to where they were previously. Its important you try to avoid losing aggro on the bridges because they will often travel over it and not get stuck at all.

Once the bridge area is secure, move towards the Fortess and slowly but sureadly pull the Elites across your bridge until majority of the Elites are gone from inside her Fortress, or all if you wish to be on the safe side.

Once the Elites are stuck, this encounter becomes rediculasly easy. First, setup both of the clerics with FoP in the doorway, and fully buff the pet and have it on passive. Then proceed to move towards Chimera until she aggros, then pull her back slightly closer to the clerics.

Few things that are important, first off Chimera will never aggro your clerics so long as they stay away from her. Second, you do NOT need to cast HoT at all, save the power for dmg shield which you only have to cast every 28 seconds or so.

Proceed to dmg shield kill Chimera until she is dead, which is approximately 50 minutes. The clerics will have to constantly heal, and usually a good idea to have them do trades of healing. DI, Pots, or MCL for any of the clerics also make it slightly easier and guarentees your victory.

Chimera will drop 6 keys(all MP items), 2 items, 1 remains, 1 torch, and about a 50% chance to drop a SoD (ive had 2 drop before). Some other items will very rarely drop, such as Black Weapon Enamel(dropped first time I did him).

Respawn is usually 30-60 minutes
